Children's Privacy Notice for Atlas

Effective date: June 12, 2026 · Consent version: 2026-06-12-coppa

Atlas is made by Nira, LLC, based in Nashville, Tennessee. If you have any question about your child's information — or want to review it, delete it, or stop us from collecting more — email us at support@nira-health.com. That address reaches the people responsible for children's privacy at Nira, and it is the fastest way to exercise any right described in this notice.

This notice is written for you, the parent or legal guardian. It explains what information about your child we collect through Atlas, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It is the direct notice required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). It works together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

How Atlas works: you use the app, not your child

Atlas is a tool for parents and guardians. You create the account, you log in, and you enter the information. Your child does not use Atlas, does not have an account, and never interacts with the app directly. Everything Atlas knows about your child comes from you — either because you typed it in, or because Atlas computed it from what you typed in.

Atlas is for adults 18 and older. Children are not permitted to create accounts or use the app, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from any child. We treat your child's information with COPPA's protections anyway, because the information is about a child even though it comes from you.

What information about your child we collect

When you set up a child's profile and use Atlas day to day, we collect:

  • Profile basics you enter: your child's first name, age or date of birth, sex, and the avatar you choose for them.
  • Your daily ratings: the scores you give each evening for your child's sleep, mood, cooperation, focus, and connection.
  • Events and notes: the behavioral events you log (category, severity, time) and any notes you write about your child.
  • What Atlas computes: the wellbeing score, detected patterns, and insights derived from your entries.
  • What you tell Audrey: anything about your child that you include in your conversations with Audrey, our AI coaching assistant.

That is the complete list. Atlas does not collect information from your child's device, school, doctor, or anywhere else — only from you.

How we use your child's information

We use it for exactly one thing: providing Atlas to you. Specifically, we use it to:

  • show you patterns in what you've recorded over time;
  • compute your child's wellbeing score;
  • generate insights about what the data suggests; and
  • give Audrey the context she needs so her coaching responses reflect your actual family, not a generic one.

We never use your child's information for advertising. We never sell it. We do not build profiles of your child for any purpose beyond the features described above.

Who we share it with

We share your child's information only with service providers who help us run Atlas, and only as needed to do their jobs. Each is bound to keep the information confidential and secure:

  • Supabase and Amazon Web Services host our database and infrastructure. Your child's information is stored there so the app can function.
  • Anthropic provides the AI model behind Audrey. When you chat with Audrey, your message — along with relevant context, which can include your child's first name, age, sex, and recent ratings and events — is sent to Anthropic to generate the reply. Anthropic handles this information under a Business Associate Agreement and confidentiality terms with us, and under its commercial API terms it is not used to train their AI models.
  • Sentry receives crash reports when the app malfunctions. Those reports are technical diagnostics tied to your (the parent's) account identifier — they describe what the app was doing when it crashed, not the content you entered. They do not include your child's name, ratings, notes, or Audrey conversations.
  • Apple handles app distribution, purchases, and notifications. Apple does not receive your child's behavioral or health information.

If you book a call with our team through the in-app scheduling link (powered by Cal.com), you'll share your own name and contact details to book the appointment — no information about your child is sent to Cal.com.

We do not share your child's information with advertisers, data brokers, insurance companies, employers, or anyone else not listed here.

How your consent works

Because you are entering information about your child, COPPA requires your consent before we collect it. Here is how we obtain it:

When you create your Atlas account, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and you accept this notice. The app records the version of this notice you accepted and the date you accepted it. If we materially change how we collect, use, or share your child's information, we will ask for your consent again before the change applies to you.

If anything about this consent is unclear, email support@nira-health.com before you sign up — we are happy to walk you through it.

Your rights over your child's information

You can review your child's information, have it deleted, and refuse to let us collect any more. None of these requires payment. Because these rights are powerful, we may take reasonable steps to verify that you are the parent on the account before acting on a request.

  • Review. Everything we hold about your child is visible to you in the app — the profile, every rating, every event and note, and what Atlas has computed from them. If you'd like a copy outside the app, email support@nira-health.com and we will provide an export.
  • Delete. You can delete your account at any time in the app under settings. Deletion takes effect as described in the retention section below. You can also email support@nira-health.com and we will delete it for you.
  • Refuse further collection. You can stop us from collecting more about your child without deleting anything: simply stop entering data, or email support@nira-health.com and ask us to suspend processing of your child's information — or to remove an individual child's profile and its data — while keeping your account open.

How long we keep your child's information

We do not keep your child's information indefinitely. Our retention policy is:

  • We retain your child's information only while your account is active, and only to provide the service to you.
  • When you delete your account, your child's information is deleted from our live systems immediately.
  • Encrypted backup copies are purged within 7 days of deletion.
  • Any files you uploaded are deleted immediately.

Your child's data is never used for advertising and never sold — while you have an account, and after.
